Laser Dentistry

The Academy team is trained in the use of laser technology to treat problems like bleeding gums and deep pockets around teeth where plaque and tarter build up and eventually cause gum disease.

Laser dentistry is much less invasive for soft-tissue surgery such as gum therapy, gum contouring, or treatments for cankers and cold sores. The high-energy beam minimizes bleeding and disinfects the tissue at the same time, speeding up the healing process.

Laser dentistry allows us to effectively perform a wide variety of procedures including:

• Cosmetic reshaping and contouring of the gums (for “gummy smiles”)
• Periodontal therapy
• Removal of small growths on the gums or lips (treatment for cold sores)
• Desensitization for patients who suffer from cold sensitivity
